One-Day Fiction Workshops with
Bestselling Novelist Anita Amirrezvani

Author of The Blood of Flowers and Equal of the Sun

Held on the Beautiful Sonoma, California Coast

Beginners: Sunday, July 27  |  9:30am–5:30pm
Intermediate: Sunday, September 7, 2014  |  9:30am–5:30pm

Sonoma Coast

Join Anita Amirrezvani for an intensive day of discussion about the art and craft of writing fiction. The mild sea air, the hummingbirds, and the sound of the foghorn at our meeting place on the Sonoma Coast will provide inspiration for us throughout the workshop as we meet in an intimate group limited to 8 people.

Beginners (July 27) will be led through a series of exercises to help bring out the authentic voice in fiction of each participant. Anita will cover key issues such as character, voice, language, dialogue, imagery, and storytelling. By the end of the day, you will have a clearer sense of what to do to take your fiction to the next stage.

Intermediate participants (September 7) may submit up to 15 pages of fiction (either short stories or excerpts from novels) in advance of the workshop. Anita will lead a critique of each piece, celebrating its strengths and identifying areas for further work. She will also provide written feedback. There will be ample time to address questions, including about the business of publishing.

Cost:
$300 per day includes refreshments, artisanal snacks, locally produced wine and lunch
